With each new year we tend to think back on the previous year and evaluate ourselves, after all we are our worst critic. Then we proceed to make a list of all the things we wish to accomplish, to become or to simply not repeat the same mistakes of our past. While I am always one for striving to be better and setting goals I found myself wanting this year to be different. Let's face it, how many of us actually stuck to our "resolutions"? Well, this year I decided the only thing I want is to be closer to God, my savior, my rock. I realized when he is first everything else falls into place. Maybe not how we see fit because his plans are better than ours. But, in order to truly allow him to shine we have to step back and put our agenda on the back burner. So this year, I am seeking him first, daily, and asking, how can I serve you today?
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
